Membership

Fees & Subscriptions

Simple, transparent and handled automatically — so you can think about swimming, not invoices.

What you pay

Two parts to membership

🗓️Annual membership fee

£50, collected every 1 February. New members joining after 1 January 2026 pay a £65 joining/membership fee (£40 after 1 October 2026) — and every new member gets an EDSC hat and t-shirt as part of joining.

🏊Monthly squad fee

Varies by squad — more pool time costs more. The full 2026 schedule, as set by the Management Committee, is below. Despite recent increases, EDSC's monthly fees remain among the lowest of all local clubs.

2026 fee schedule

Set by the Management Committee in November 2025. Every squad pays the £50 annual membership fee plus its monthly swim fee.

The club monitors its finances through the year and reserves the right to adjust monthly fees with as much notice as possible. There is a planned one-week summer break with a reduced pool programme for a few weeks after it. How payment works

Direct Debit via GoCardless

Direct Debit through GoCardless (set up in SwimClub Manager) is the club's payment method — it keeps costs down, processes automatically, and you're covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

~22nd of the month

Your invoice is issued in SwimClub Manager. Want to stop or change your membership? Tell us before the 22nd.

1st of the month

The monthly swim fee is collected automatically by Direct Debit.

1 February

The £50 annual membership fee is collected as a one-off Direct Debit payment.

That's it

No standing orders, no chasing — and you're protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Setting up your Direct Debit mandate

Every member — parent and swimmer records alike — must keep an active Direct Debit mandate on their SwimClub Manager account. It takes under five minutes; have your bank details ready.

🆕New members

Log in to SwimClub Manager → open the Your Finances tile → follow the "go here" link to the secure GoCardless page → fill in your details and Set Up Direct Debit. When the yellow box appears, click Yes to link the mandate to your swimmer(s) — the status turns Active within a few days.

👪Adding a family member

Once the discipline manager has linked the new swimmer to your account: Your Detailsview them here → select the new member → open the Direct Debit Setup tab → follow the instructions to link your existing mandate. No login details? Email it@edsc.org.uk.

Important: cancelling your Direct Debit mandate (the red button under Your Finances) removes it from you and all assigned swimmers — the club will assume you no longer wish to be members, and swimmers may be removed from registers until a mandate is reinstated. The full illustrated guide is in Club Documents.

Moving on

Leaving the club

We'd hate to see you go — but if you do, please:

  • Give one month's notice to your coach or squad manager.
  • Return any club property.
  • If other family members remain enrolled, coordinate the change carefully so their membership isn't affected.

Great value, every level
